3/26 – 3/28: Campus Wide Automatic Transfer Switch Testing Schedule

Campus Community,

March 26 – 28, 2018 a contractor will perform our annual ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch) testing on the life safety and standby power transfer switches in the below listed buildings.

The contractor transfers from normal power source to standby and then back. There is a possibility of a small blip on the standby power of no more than 10 seconds when the transfer occurs each way. Normal lighting and power is not tested and should not be affected unless it’s inadvertently tied into the standby power.

Life safety transfer switches can affect emergency lighting in stairwells, hallways and the fire doors may close, although they will continue to operate manually. Fire panels will continue to operate and will be re-set after testing and the fire doors will be re-opened.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Rob Berg, Electrical Supervisor, Campus Operations, at ext. 6-2313 or rberg@uoregon.edu.
