Shannon Boettcher selected for Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award

UO Chemistry and Biochemistry faculty Shannon Boettcher is among 13 U.S. scientists to win a 2015 Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award. The selection, announced by the Camille and Henry Dreyfus Foundation, recognizes young faculty in the chemical sciences.

New “Learning Chemistry” Project will support General Chemistry Students

A new project titled “Learning Chemistry” will receive funding through the College of Arts and Sciences as part of an effort to energize undergraduate studies in the 2015-2016 year.

The project, led by Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry senior instructors Deborah Exton and Thomas Greenbowe, lecture demonstrator Randy Sullivan and graduate student Brandi Baldock, is designed to provide direct support to students experiencing difficulty in General Chemistry.

Chemistry Teaching Labs places First in Biz Commute Challenge

Congratulations to the UO Chemistry Teaching Labs Business Commute Challenge Team! Their 19 member team placed first for their size category.

For a week each May, the BCC hosts a friendly competition – workplace against workplace – to see who can walk, bike, bus, carpool, or telecommute the most.

This is the 3rd year in a row that UO Chemistry Teaching Labs won the First Place trophy!
