Midterm Review
This term I mainly worked on structure, I changed 2d steel trusses to 3d trusses to support my roof, use concrete columns and floor slabs. I was troubled with the location to put shear walls because my floor changes every level. From the midterm review, the structural engineer told me if I can add diagonal pieces between trusses then I don’t need shear walls. He also gave me the exact dimension of columns and vertical core. So what I will do next is to change the dimension of my structure.

I also worked on ventilation of my project. I cut some opening in my atrium which can have natural ventilation. I also think about HVAC system in my building. From the midterm review, the reviewers told me I can put mechanical things at the basement which can be more efficient.

From the midterm review, Kent told me the pure sense of the facade is really important and he suggested me to use double facade of glazing. I agreed with him and I will think about how to apply double facade to my project next.
I think I will focus on the landscape and my vertical farming in the next few weeks before final.
Mubai, these images show how you have been working steadily to make a complex building form believable. By listening carefully to critical comments, you have been gradually enriching the scheme. I look forward to seeing more dramatic images of this powerful form, particularly seeing more detail about the vertical farming.
