  1. As a Mexican American many of us are trying to keep hold of and even lost many of our traditions as we assimilate to the dominant culture. We are like the in between people looking for our way and many times lost with no past to grasp onto, other than researching it on our own. As a young man, one tradition I was handed down was art. Pencil and paper which was the only thing accessible many times. Other forms of art that is left to the youth are graffiti, dance, rap/lyricist and art. With art I was as with many other youth create our own tradition. With your support I will be able to keep this tradition alive and help as many people as possible to find their passion and be the one to teach my history to others to let people know what it is to be Mexican American and give the youth a sense of self worth through classes and lessons to help them fill a void that many youth of color have today.
