For this logo assignment I wanted to include logos that were particularly interesting to me. The first logo I wanted to describe is the logo for Walt Disney Pictures. I chose this logo specifically because it produces an emotional response and reminds me of my childhood, which ultimately consisted of watching endless amounts of Disney movies. I decided to choose this particular Disney logo because I am most familiar with it’s design and appearance. At first glance, there is a striking contrast between the bright blue color of the background and the white lettering of the text. My eyes are immediately drawn to the white text that says Walt Disney which are written in a specially designed font for the Walt Disney company. Behind the lettering is a castle which is printed in a lighter color blue as to not distract the audience from the white text. The castle is an iconic image for the Walt Disney Company. Above the castle, there is a line that arcs from the top of the W in Walt and  all the way to the E in the Disney. The purpose of this arc is unclear to me because when I first glance at the logo there doesn’t seem to be a purpose for the arc. Taking another look at the picture as a whole, the arc could be the outline of a sun or moon behind the castle. The Walt Disney Pictures logo has a 3-D effect where the Walt Disney text protrudes more forward than the castle. The reason for the 3-D effect is most likely to promote the Walt Disney Pictures brand.

The second logo I wanted to describe is the Coca-Cola logo. I wanted to use this logo in the assignment because I am interested in the history behind the brand and the design. The Coca-Cola design has been changed and modified throughout the life-span of the product. The bright red coloring of the text stands out and promotes the product. The font of the text is custom designed so that the design is specifically represented by the Coca-Cola company. The Cola part of the text looks slightly larger than the Coca part, however, the bottom curve of the C in the Cola part of the text swipes under the word and draws the audience toward the cola. The Coca-Cola logo is interesting in that the brand name has not been changed completely in the many years since its beginning. Because of the limited alterations and continued use of the logo, the Coca-Cola company has continued to be one of the most memorable logos.

The final logo I wanted to use for this assignment is for beatsaudio. I like this logo because there are multiple ideas of how the logo can be interpreted. Looking first at the text the font does not seem to be anything specially created for the brand. However, it is interesting that the text is not capitalized nor does it stand out as much as the picture on the logo. The beats word is in a redish hue and the audio word is grey. These two colors stand out against the black background but they do not stand out as much as the picture above the text. Looking now at the picture above beatsaudio, the picture resembles two different ideas. At first glance, the picture looks like the ‘b’ from the ‘beats’ text surrounded by a pinkish redish color. However, looking more closely at the picture, the ‘b’ can turn into what looks to be a head phone. The idea of this logo is clever in that the picture represents the product being sold.
