Job description:
Hourly Wage: $ 11.25+/hr
Hours: This position is an academic year commitment with a schedule of 6-10 hours per week. Hours include both set office hours and fluctuating, independent tasks outside of the office.
The International Student and Scholars Services (ISSS) Department in the Division of Global Engagement (DGE) is looking to hire an ExplOregon PR Communications Coordinator. The explOregon PR Communications Coordinator will work closely with the explOregon program coordinator, manager, and student staff and collaborate with the DGE marketing team to assist the explOregon program with various projects and events. Responsibilities:
 Coordinate and assist in explOregon outreach events and activities
 Maintain explOregon blog
 Create digital advertisements and other various marketing materials
 Create social media posts and content calendar
 Lead explOregon trips
 Make presentations to various campus audiences
 Update and respond to messages on explOregon social media platforms
 Follow up with constituents and students to encourage participation
 Other duties as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be a current or incoming UO student
• Experience with coordinating or leading groups of individuals
• Comfortable with presenting in front of both small and large groups
• Familiarity with campus social networks, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, blogging platforms, and student organizations
• Self-motivated, flexible, and detail-oriented
• Strong task and time management skills, and the ability to handle a wide range of responsibilities assigned
• Ability to use verbal and written communication effectively and creatively
• Ability to work well with students of diverse backgrounds
• Ability to work well as a group member and independently
• Familiarity with general office procedures
• Familiarity with the following software: Word and Excel, blogging and social media platforms
• A positive attitude and strong sense of responsibility
• Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:
• International study, work, volunteer and/or travel experience
• Familiarity with the following: Canva, Adobe Creative Suite platforms, WordPress, and/or MailChimp
• Work-study is preferred but not required
• Valid Driver’s License
