Oregon Hall Domestic Hot Water Shutdown 1/14 – 1/18

Building Occupants,

Facilities Services Plumbing Shop is replacing an outdated leaking water heater in the Basement Mechanical Room. This will impact all restrooms and break rooms domestic hot water on the east side of the building January 14 – 16. Cold water will still be available so the impact to the building should be minimal.

Prenotification was sent to Facilities Liaisons last week.

EWEB Agate Street Water Main Replacement Requires Water Shutdown at Agate Hall 12/24

On December 24 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm our utility provider EWEB is shutting down the domestic hot and cold water at Agate Hall. This outage will impact the restrooms and sinks.

On December 26 from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm our utility provider EWEB is shutting down the domestic hot and cold water to the following UO Buildings:

Oregon Hall
University Health, Counseling, and Testing
Walton Hall
Hamilton Hall
Living Learning Center (South only)

This is part of the EWEB water main replacement project.

The restrooms and sinks will be impacted by this outage.

The nearest open buildings with uninterrupted water services include Deschutes, Huestis, Erb Memorial Union, Straub and Student Rec Center (opens at 10 am).

Knight Library: NE ADA Ramp Closure 12/12-12/21

UPDATE: Due to weather related schedule changes the closure dates for the NE ADA ramp will be from Friday 12/14/18 through Friday 12/28/18.

In conjunction with the Opal Whiteley Sculpture construction project, the NE ADA access ramp at Knight Library will be temporarily closed from December 12th-21st. The alternate route for temporary ADA access has been arranged through the CMET department along Kincaid St., near the north-west corner of the building (see attached map). CPFM Administration Building 136 HVAC Shutdown 11/15-11/16

On Thursday, November 15th from 5:00p until Friday, November 16th at 7:00a, the HVAC system for the CPFM Administration Building will be temporarily deactivated. The 2nd floor renovation of the offices of Campus Planning will necessitate the use of an airless sprayer overnight between November 15th and 16th, and as a precaution the heating and ventilation system will be shut down to ensure that the air scrubbers and negative-air filtration system capture all excess particulates. As a result, building users may experience lower than normal temperatures upon entry into the building the morning of Friday, November 16th until the HVAC system is able to return the space to its normal occupancy temperature range. There may also be a residual aroma of the Zero VOC latex paint, but it should dissipate quickly. EMU North Elevator Maintenance 11/14

Klamath Hall: Fire Alarm Testing 11/7

On Wednesday, November 7th from 6:00a-6:30a, the City of Eugene will be conducting an inspection on the fire alarm equipment installed in Klamath 179 to verify the proper function of the system. Oregon Hall: East Wing Heating System Repairs 11/3 and 11/10

Heating system repairs are scheduled for Oregon Hall east wings, Floors 1-4 this Saturday (11/3) and next Saturday (11/10) from 6:00a-4:00p. This work requires a drain down of the heating water system to install new bypass valves on 11/3, followed by a heating water system flush on 11/10. There will be no heat in the building during the Saturday work. Construction workers will be working above ceiling. University Health, Counseling & Testing Center Expansion and Renovation Project Impact: Moving Construction Fence 11/5/18-3/30/19

Beginning Monday 11/5/18, the construction fence on Beech Street will need to move further west to accommodate street trenching for underground utility connections. The new fence location will only allow for 1 lane of traffic on Beech Street. Signs will be posted to create a one-way loop through the Carson Hall drop-off that continues through Beech Street. The fence will stay in this location through March of 2019 to accommodate concrete activities and steel erection. Prince Lucien Campbell: 4th Floor Concrete Core Drilling 11/6

On Tuesday, November, 6th from 3:30a-7:30a, as part of the new DAS (distributed antennae system) for PLC, a contractor will be performing work in the 4th floor east building stairwell and hallway. They will be core drilling two holes from the stairwell into the hallway to route conduit. This will impact the 4th floor south stairwell and hallway in the east section of the building. Straub & Earl Halls: Steam Shutdown 11/7

On Wednesday, November 7th, from 11:30a-3:30p, the steam to both Straub and Earl Halls will be temporarily shut down to effect maintenance operations on the steam lines. This will impact heating systems and domestic hot water to both buildings, including sinks and showers. Prince Lucien Campbell Hall: Safety Equipment Installation On West Roof And 4th Floor East Stairwell 11/1 and 11/2

Their will be intermittent construction related noise on Thursday 11/1 & Friday 11/2. The contractors are installing safety rails on the west roof and in the the 4th floor stairway on the east side.
