Begin: July 9, 2025 – ongoing issue
End: Unknown
Building(s) or Area(s) Affected: Tykeson Hall
Scope: Per Otis, due to a software issue from an update on July 9th, the elevator will audibly announce intermittently, when the button is pushed, “This elevator is temporarily out of service.” The elevator will then shut down for a couple of minutes with the doors open. After that time, it will reset itself and become operational. Otis Elevator is saying that the elevator is safe to use. Go ahead and push the button to go to the floor you originally requested. Otis technicians are working to address this issue and an update will be sent when it has been resolved.
Services Impacted: If you receive the audible message, you will need to wait until the elevator resets itself and then it will be operational again.
