Midterm Update

floor 2 ground floor event spaceteaching wing

Since last term, I have been working on loosening up my datums to allow for a more natural design scheme. While my main concepts have maintained emphasis since fall term, I have Allowed my spaces less rigidity to create more welcoming environments.

My main focus remains on developing a system to bring improved air and water quality, as well and an abundance of fresh food into the urban fabric of southeast Portland. The vertical farming element has shifted from a steel system to a more integrated polycarbonate extrusion grid that interacts more organically with the rest of the project.

My vertical floors have decreased in number to provide more emphasis on specific program elements such as my vertical green houses and presentation space. These spaces are less rigid and are allowed to break the x and y axes of structure. `

Future developments will focus on technical systems of transporting air and water throughout the building.
