Thanks for visiting, North Star!
Great fun today showing the North Star students our laser lab! Thanks for visiting and good luck as you begin your undergraduate journeys!
In situ spectroscopy of materials formation
Great fun today showing the North Star students our laser lab! Thanks for visiting and good luck as you begin your undergraduate journeys!
Thanks to our UO Summer Campers this year. We had great fun building some microscopes! Thanks to Madi and Marty for leading our campers this year. Come visit again soon!
Congrats to Kelly, Morgan, and Madi on their new conference proceedings for the Optical Society of America’s Advanced Photonics Congress. Their work can be found here.
Congrats to Grant on graduating cum laude with departmental honors! Grant also won the Noyes Award for excellence in undergraduate physical chemistry research. Well deserved, and congratulations on all of your accomplishments!
Congrats to Madi, Kelly, Morgan, and Michael on giving fantastic presentations at ACS NORM in Portland on Monday.
Michael presented his work on the in situ measurement of UV-induced photodegradation of perovskite nanocrystals; Morgan presented her newest work on using absorbance spectroscopy and her grid-based fitting algorithm to track aggregate composition; Kelly presented his new work on tracking charge transfer rates during the formation of layered organic films; Madi presented her work detailing how dynamic background signals in SSTA can be corrected. Great job, everyone, way to represent UO!
Congrats to Madi on winning a PChem Undergraduate Fellowship! This fellowship will partially fund her work over the summer on her project quantifying heterogeneity in organic films. Well deserved, Madi!
James won a teaching award from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for his excellent work in designing and implementing a new optical microscopy lab for the physical chemistry laboratory course. Great work, James!!
Congrats to James and Michael on the acceptance of their paper ‘Rapid sampling during synthesis of lead halide perovskite nanocrystals for spectroscopic measurement’ into MRS Advances. Great job!
A huge congratulations to Madi, who was awarded a Goldwater Scholarship!! What an accomplishment and validation of all your hard work. Well deserved! Congrats, Madi!
Congrats to James, who presented his TA measurements of perovskite nanocrystals during their synthesis at the Materials Research Society meeting in Phoenix. To our knowledge, this is the first time the excited state dynamics of nascent NCs have been reported. Really exciting results, James!
