Standards of Excellence Accreditation Process

Standards of Excellence

The Chapter Standards of Excellence program serves to assist the University Fraternity & Sorority community in general and each chapter in particular in functioning at the most effective and efficient levels possible. The program also intends to help provide for the best possible experience for individual members.

The Chapter Standards of Excellence program serves to assess chapters on the minimum standards they should be meeting to be viable and successful members of the University of Oregon fraternity and sorority community and of the (inter)national organizations. In doing so, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life can more accurately target and provide assistance to individual chapters in the specific areas in which they many have fallen short of the recognition standards. The areas that are included within Standards of Excellence are: Membership Development, Chapter Management, External Relations, and Policy Compliance.

The Chapters with the highest scores will get to host the ‘Chapter of the Year’ trophy for the year and have their name engraved on a plaque in the FSL Office. Below you will find the Submission Link that will walk you through your Chapter’s submission. Please schedule a meeting with your advisor if you have any questions about what is required.

Submissions are due no later than March 1st, 2024.
