MARKETING & PROMOTION
I worked as the Sales and Marketing Director for Banovich Art during which I managed and maintained a large client base. One of my responsibilities included expanding social networks and maintaining strong relationships with clients, including many prominent business executives and influential individuals. Special care was required in all communication. I was responsible for maintaining the databases of clients, sales and over 700 works of art. I developed outreach to galleries, chapter organizations and clients, and articulated sales over the phone, online and in person. I gained experiences in billing and contracting services. I directed all marketing and publicity activities for Banovich Art and its partner non-profit.
One of my main objectives was to enhance the company brand, which was achieved by refining visual and written content. I worked with designers and developers and one other team member to launch a new website for the company in 2013, and worked with a contracted graphic designer to develop a new design direction for all marketing materials, including the 75 page Banovich Volume IV Catalog. I was responsible for developing promotional content and worked with the designer to critique and edit all materials.
I planned several small art displays at meetings and events in New York, Houston and LA. These events involved coordinating the shipment of artwork, planning displays, lighting and promotional materials, travel accommodations and promotional content. Working with a small team, I took part in planning large week long trade show events. We coordinated a 3300 sq. foot booth for art display at the Safari Club International convention. I was responsible for the artwork display and promotional materials. I developed content and worked with a designer to create invitations, displays, brochures and email marketing. During the shows I directed sales and displays, and presented the annual Banovich ‘For Sale by Draw’ through which we sold highly sought-after original artwork.
The following designs were created by contracted graphic designers, Mark Schuler of ProDesign and Mint in Seattle. I worked very closely with both to develop content and direction.
“KING” GICLEE PROGRAM
I coordinated and marketed a Banovich time limited edition giclee program to promote lion conservation through the Banovich Wildscapes Foundation Lion PRIDE Initiative. The time limited edition “King” canvas celebrated 20 years of Banovich partnering with Safari Club International and helped to raise much needed funds for lion conservation. Fifty percent of proceeds were donated to lion conservation. An important step was developing a mutually beneficial partnership with the Safari Club International Foundation for promotion and support. I created digital content, proposals and press releases and worked with a designer on displays, ads and email marketing. We raised almost $14,000 for lion conservation. WEBSITE RENOVATION
As Sales and Marketing Director of Banovich Art I worked with designers and developers and one other team member to launch a new website for the company and its partner non-profit the Banovich Wildscapes Foundation in 2013. We contracted a design and development team after going through a selection and interview process of our top three web design/development companies. We also developed a very complete idea of what we would need from the site. I led the continuing process, directing changes and working with the design/development team to create the best possible site to serve as the main “storefront” of Banovich Art. We eventually chose to incorporate a custom e-commerce addition which required that I create a thorough outline of our needs and desires. My most time consuming task was to edit and compose new content, test for bugs and errors and perform regular maintenance and upkeep of content. www.johnbanovich.com
BWF BEAST BENEFIT
I assisted with the planning and promotion of a fundraising campaign for the Banovich Wildscapes Foundation, launched in January of 2014 to raise funding for the critical projects that BWF supports. Through a silent auction, sales of the Banovich limited edition “King” giclee and many generous donations, the efforts raised over $75,000 for the foundation. The Beast Benefit closed with an event held in Las Vegas in February. Held in honor of wildlife conservation, the evening featured several special guests including speakers Dr. Laurence Frank (Living with Lions Project Director), Dr. Lance Craighead (Conservation Director of the Craighead Institute) and Kat Combes (CEO of the Soysambu Conservancy). I worked to solicit donations for the auction, developed digital and printed invitations, brochure and email marketing with graphic designers, directed marketing activities for the event, and worked with a design and development team to create an online silent auction website. I independently designed a sponsorship poster for the event. I created and managed the guest list, handled questions from invitees and tracked attendance responses.
