Building Access
In order to access SOMD facilities, you’ll need proximity (prox) access added to your UO ID card, keys to your office, and door codes to relevant teaching spaces.
Prox Access and Door Codes
As an employee, you will have access to the building 24/7. Please follow the steps below to request after-hours access.
- Prox Access: Employees can gain after-hours access to the building by using their UO ID card at the card reader located at the exterior doors.
- To obtain prox access, please email somdloganx@uoregon.edu with your full name, UO ID number (starts with “95”), and your prox code found on the upper right-hand corner on the back of your UO ID card.
- Door Codes: Most classrooms are accessible during the normal building hours, however if you have a rehearsal scheduled in any of the SOMD classrooms outside of these hours you will need a door code.
- You can request your individual door code to access rooms that are locked through a keypad system by emailing somdloganx@uoregon.edu
- For the safety and privacy of all students, faculty, and staff, do NOT share your door code.
- If you have problems with your code or building access at any time, please email somdloganx@uoregon.edu, or visit the Facilities Office (located in the downstairs FMB administrative wing).
Office and Room Keys
As a new SOMD employee, you’ll need a key to your office. Please follow the steps below to obtain your key.
- Key requests are fulfilled by the SOMD Facilities Office. Please email somdloganx@uoregon.edu to arrange for your office key and instructions for when and how to pick up your new key at the UO Key Office (located on the ground floor of the EMU).
- If you need keys to rooms in the building other than your office and teaching spaces, you may sign a key out from the Front Desk.
- If you have any questions please visit the Facilities Office or email somdloganx@uoregon.edu.
Printing and Copying
There are several copy machines located throughout SOMD spaces that faculty and staff can use for printing and scanning.
- To obtain a copy code to access the machines, contact Jim Klenke in the accounting office at SOMDaccounting@uoregon.edu
