Earthquake Early Warnings

A research poster on the Pacific Northwest West Coast Earthquake Early Warning System at the Oregon Country Fair

As educators interested in outreach, we do outreach where we can.  For the last four years we have helped host an educational outreach booth at the Oregon Country Fair where we show off maps regarding local science issues.  In the past, we have had maps on water quality in the McKenzie River, wildfire safety in the Willamette Valley, the path of the 2017 eclipse, and this last year we had a series of conservation maps along the Long Tom Watershed and this very cool research poster on the network of seismometers that supports the West Coast Earthquake Early Waring System.  Dean Livelybrooks is the creator of this poster and Doug Toomey is our lead on the Early Warning System.
