Learning Goals:
I hope to continue my search for best practices in instructing youth arts in various contexts.
I hope to discover, in my research, best practices in curriculum development, especially that which allows for inclusive participation of genders, ages and abilities.
I hope to learn some more about the legal, ethical or political restrictions art teachers have when designing curriculum.
I hope to expand my understanding of evaluation methods in measuring the benefits of an art education and which methods are most useful in which settings.
I hope to learn more about effective research methods in art education and the struggles and failures in such research. I hope to hear about what doesn’t work, not just what does.
Great! Related to #2, the work that is coming out on creativity and seniors would be apropos; and research we’ll be looking at during advocacy and evaluation will be very relevant to #3 and#4
