Eight Weeks
before Final Oral Defense		 Submit first draft of dissertation to committee for review. At the discretion of the advisor, the dissertation committee may meet to discuss the first draft. 
Four Weeks
before PhD Public Lecture		 Submit PhD Public Lecture Scheduling Form to the Music Graduate Office 
Four Weeks
before Final Oral Defense		 Apply for Final Oral Defense on GradWeb. 
Three Weeks
before Final Oral Defense		 Submit completed draft of dissertation to committee. 
 Week Nine Last week to hold PhD Public Lecture and Final Oral Defense
2 Weeks After Oral Defense Last day to upload dissertation to ProQuest/UMI (see detailed instructions on the UO Graduate School website). Include approval page (please plan in advance to secure your advisor’s signature).
