GEO Oviedo is Going Big!

GEO is always hoping to tear down walls between our students and education abroad, but this time we’re doing it literally! In the GEO Center in Oviedo, Spain, the Center staff, Carmen and Silvia, have been hard at work this summer tearing down walls and remodeling the Center classroom for use this fall!

Across the street from the 400-year-old University of Oviedo, the conveniently-located GEO Oviedo Center houses offices for GEO staff and a library of resources for students and faculty, including a large DVD collection, as well as providing wifi, computers and space for students to relax. Previously, the classroom was smaller and cramped, but with the remodel, it can now comfortably accommodate twenty students and features a projector screen and large windows that offer excellent lighting (don’t worry, they’re just shuttered in the photo!).

We can’t wait to see what our fall students think of their new space! And if you’d like to visit it and see the remodel yourself, there’s still time to join the GEO Open Houses in Spain this November! Participants can choose which site they would like to visit. Both locations offer programming throughout the academic year in Spring, Summer, and Fall, with Oviedo additionally offering Maymester. Customized program opportunities are also available at each Center. If you are interested in seeing both sites, we are happy to accommodate a separate, individual visit on November 13-14, 2018.
