This blog represents a collaborative, student-authored project of the students in English 104, Introduction to Fiction, Climate Change Fiction, at the University of Oregon, Winter 2015. Throughout the term, we will be exploring, discussing, and writing about the role of stories, and particularly the stories we encounter in works of literary fiction, in our cultural, political, and ecological lives, particularly as those lives are increasingly affected by climate change. Through the lens of cli-fi, we will also consider questions about the nature of narrative and the interrelated activities of reading, writing, and interpretation.
This blog has a dual purpose: to foster conversation and collaboration within the discourse community of our own class and to extend that conversation into the wider public beyond the classroom.
We welcome your feedback and comments. Please add your voices to the conversation.
