The Mindful, Present, Perceptive Parenting (MP3) study is a six-week infant parenting program for mothers of newborns- 6 months old, focusing on the development of
mindfulness, self-compassion, stress reduction, and parental responsiveness to increase parenting confidence and optimize attachment. The program includes themes of attunement, self-compassion, parenting confidence, and resilience.
MP3 research is focused on:
- Increasing evidence of reducing women’s self-reported symptoms of depression and anxiety across the 6-week program
- Reducing mothers’ self-reported parenting stress across the 6-week program
- Increasing maternal self-compassion resources
- Enhancing maternal self-efficacy
- Enhancing infant development
- Biological evidence of a decrease of stress and increase of emotional bonding through bolstering the levels of oxytocin during the class
