As her tenure as president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) comes to an end this month, UO Chemist Geri Richmond will step into the role of chair of the AAAS board of directors.

In an article for the February 12th edition of Chemistry World,  Richmond says that her ‘top priority’ during her one year appointment will be to ensure that AAAS is ‘more effective’ in addressing the issue of bias against women, minorities and disadvantaged LGBT scientists.
