My learning goal and reflection of the AAD 550
1 Since the name of the class is “art society”, it seems like the big picture, in this case I am interested in how the art society operate in the US.
— With the whole terms of reading and attending the class, specially through the open class discussion, I have a fully understanding with the art society and the art world as well.
2 The definition of “art world”, who is participation and how it can affect to art piece or a specific art community?
— Art community and the art world have a bound to each other, with art involved in a specific society, we can definite this community as an art world as well, the thing that interest me most is the large scales of the participation in the art world, audiences, craftsman,all those elements form the art world into a system operate.
3 As we have been talked a lot with transmedia, I am still a bit of confuse with the word.
— It really interest me since in the film promotion or in the culture related business there is a way called transmadia promotion, which to be specific, one cultural product can include with different products but involved in the same topic. By promoting a film you can as well sell the original book, games and even toys in the same time, which is how Disney sells with their products. The transmedia, with my understanding, is the basic of the business way. And it can include into a large scales as well.
And I do enjoy doing the module assignment, specially the module 4 topic I am involved with, to talk about future art education in the coming decades, do make it think over about the possibilities and with it, far more understanding on how the art world may expand with the coming elements involved in, how it can effect on the arts.
