Welcome to the Writing Associates Program

New starting Fall 2023:
Writing 312 now counts for the English major writing requirement, and completing the Writing Associates Program can substitute for up to two courses for the WSCR minor!

The purpose of the Writing Associates Program is twofold:

1 | to provide our brightest English majors/minors and Clark Honors students invested in writing opportunities for professional development in support of their writing-related goals, whether they intend to transition to a career or graduate studies upon leaving UO

The Writing Associates Program offers exclusive courses and internships as writing tutors.

The program is of particular value for students who are preparing for careers in teaching, editing, publishing, or writing.

2 | to provide tutoring that helps students spend focused time with their writing, to draw students’ attention to effective and ineffective writing features and strategies, and to provide student writers with support and encouragement

Writing Associates offer tutoring support for students taking 100, 200, and 300 level courses in the English Department (ENG), Composition Program (WR), and Clark Honors College (HC).
