The Writing Associates Program cannot succeed without support from the faculty

Faculty can support our top English majors by

Including information about the Writing Associates Program on their Canvas site and syllabus

Meeting with a Writing Associate to learn more about the program

Allotting five minutes of class time for a Writing Associate to visit 100, 200, and 300 level ENG, HC & WR classes and inform your students of the services available to them

Encouraging students to schedule and attend tutoring sessions with a Writing Associate

Allowing Writing Associates in-training to observe class sessions and follow up with a brief meeting in office hours to discuss course goals for student writing

Recommending outstanding student writers to become future Associates!

The Writing Associates can support the faculty by

Supplementing the instruction and feedback students receive from faculty and Graduate Employees

Consulting faculty to tailor tutoring sessions to support the specific course goals and objectives

Providing a written report of every tutoring session

Visiting class sessions to assist with writing workshops

Working with students in specific courses to identify and bring out the strengths in their writing
