James won a teaching award from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry for his excellent work in designing and implementing a new optical microscopy lab for the physical chemistry laboratory course. Great work, James!!
James and Michael’s work gets accepted to MRS Advances!
Congrats to James and Michael on the acceptance of their paper ‘Rapid sampling during synthesis of lead halide perovskite nanocrystals for spectroscopic measurement’ into MRS Advances. Great job!
Madi is awarded a Goldwater Scholarship!!
A huge congratulations to Madi, who was awarded a Goldwater Scholarship!! What an accomplishment and validation of all your hard work. Well deserved! Congrats, Madi!
James presents first in situ TA measurements of perovskite nanocrystals during growth at MRS
Congrats to James, who presented his TA measurements of perovskite nanocrystals during their synthesis at the Materials Research Society meeting in Phoenix. To our knowledge, this is the first time the excited state dynamics of nascent NCs have been reported. Really exciting results, James!
Molecular aggregation project wins poster prize at MRS!
Congrats to Kelly, Madi, and Morgan, whose project on in situ measurements during molecular aggregation won the Best Poster prize in the “Advances in in situ Techniques for Diagnostics and Synthetic Design of Energy Materials” symposium at the Materials Research Society meeting in Phoenix! Great job!
SSTA goes to Washington!
Big thanks to Kelly, Madi, and Morgan, who did all of the work that we presented at the Ultrafast Bandgap Photonics conference in Washington DC. Great job, team!
Welcome to Marc, our new rotation student
A big welcome to Marc, our rotation student for the spring quarter. He will be doing some spectroscopy on organic materials with Kelly and Madi. Looking forward to a great quarter, Marc!
Kelly and Madi’s paper accepted to Synthetic Metals
Congratulations to Kelly and Madi! Their latest paper detailing their unique chopping scheme to dynamically correct for pump induced scatter and fluorescence has been accepted into the Early Career Leaders special issue of the journal Synthetic Metals. Nice work!
First oral presentations by Michael and Madi!
Congrats to Michael and Madi who both gave their first research talks at the 78th annual meeting of the Oregon Academy of Sciences in McMinnville! Michael talked about his work investigating white light generation, and Madi presented her work using the SSTA technique. Great job, both!
Kelly gives oral presentation at Pacific Conference on Spectroscopy and Dynamics
Sounds like Kelly had a great time in San Diego giving a presentation on his work on the SSTA instrument! Great job, Kelly!
