Molecular aggregation project wins poster prize at MRS!

Congrats to Kelly, Madi, and Morgan, whose project on in situ measurements during molecular aggregation won the Best Poster prize in the “Advances in in situ Techniques for Diagnostics and Synthetic Design of Energy Materials” symposium at the Materials Research Society meeting in Phoenix! Great job!

Welcome to Marc, our new rotation student

A big welcome to Marc, our rotation student for the spring quarter. He will be doing some spectroscopy on organic materials with Kelly and Madi. Looking forward to a great quarter, Marc!

First oral presentations by Michael and Madi!

Congrats to Michael and Madi who both gave their first research talks at the 78th annual meeting of the Oregon Academy of Sciences in McMinnville! Michael talked about his work investigating white light generation, and Madi presented her work using the SSTA technique. Great job, both!

Kelly and Madi presented their work in developing our single shot transient absorption instrument at the SACNAS STEM Diversity conference in San Antonio, TX. Congrats to both, and thanks to SACNAS for providing travel support!

Welcome to rotation students Alison and Ben

We’re excited to welcome two new rotation students to the lab, Alison and Ben. Alison will be working on measuring nanocrystals during synthesis, while Ben will get some experience using our single-shot transient absorption spectrometer. Looking forward to a fun quarter!
