Congrats to Morgan on her talk at the American Chemical Society 73rd Northwest Regional Meeting in Richland, WA, titled “Modeling molecular aggregation during thin film formation via in situ absorbance spectra”. Sounds like it was a hit!
We’re happy to host Jacob Miller this summer, an REU student from Northern Arizona University. He’ll be working on making some perovskite nanocrystals for the lab. Welcome!
Congrats to Rima on being awarded the P-Chem Undergraduate Fellowship! Rima will be working in the lab this summer to measure and control the deposition of organic thin films. Great job, Rima!
The lab has been awarded some new funding from the American Chemical Society’s Petroleum Research Fund for our research on the aggregation of large aromatic molecules. These molecules form aggregates that are similar to the asphaltene aggregates in heavy crude oils that clog and foul pipelines. Particular congrats to Morgan who contributed some key preliminary results to our proposal. Thanks, ACS!
