Dr. Gillem Lectures at Beijing University:
On October 27, Associate Professor Mark L. Gillem, PhD, AIA, AICP lectured at the Beijing University of Technology on the topic of sustainable urbanism. China is experiencing tremendous growth and faculty and students there are very interested in learning how American cities are structuring more sustainable patterns of growth. Using case studies from across the U.S., Dr. Gillem discussed the role of walkable streets, downtown parks, and public transit in making density livable and sustainable.
