Japan Night Auditions!

Hey everyone!

Interested in a chance to perform in Japan Night? This post is for you!

The Japanese Student Organization is looking for individuals to act in a number of skits and/or act as a hosts of Japan Night, a live event being held in the EMU Ballroom on March 10th. The event is a performance showcasing various elements of Japanese culture to University of Oregon students, and Lane country community members. No experience or knowledge of Japanese Culture is required, although it’s a plus.

Auditions are being held on Thursday (02/02) between 4 and 5:30pm in McKenzie 175.

Also, we are looking for individuals interested in learning and performing two Japanese dances: Soran Bushi, and the Age Age dance. Soran Bushi is a classic traditional dance with high energy, and the Age Age dance is a modern dance with some jazz and urban influences. Those interested in only dancing need not attend an audition, just e-mail for practice times and locations.

There will be no monetary compensation for actors, actresses, hosts or dancers, but a meal and t-shirt will be provided to all who perform.

If you have any questions or want more details, shoot an email to our president Zachary Yamada at zyamada@uoregon.edu.

And of course, we still have a meeting this Wednesday, 6 PM, in Lillis 111.

I hope to see both familiar and new faces at the auditions! Good luck!
