Spring 2020 Faculty Forum with Visiting Professor, Ignacio Lopez Buscon!

Ignacio López Busón is an architect and landscape urbanist with international experience in award-winning sizeable projects across Europe, Asia, and the USA. In 2014, he co-founded MAPS (Methods for the Architecture of Patterns and Systems), a design and research collective specialized in developing innovative design solutions for the integration of human and natural systems at all scales. In an age of environmental crisis, the world continues unrelentingly towards urbanization. In this lecture, Ignacio Lopez Buson, co-founder and director of MAPS, will share ten years of research on digital technologies applied to landscape and urbanism in Asia, Europe, and the USA, and explain how current computational design paradigms represent a critical toolkit to articulate the integration of natural systems within contemporary cities.
