SOMD Committees

Departments and Areas
Roster of faculty and area chairs, by area and department.

Admissions and Recruitment Committee
Serves as the advisory group to provide input on behalf of faculty and staff regarding SOMD admissions, recruitment, scholarship, and enrollment management matters.

Committee for Equity and Inclusion (CEI)
In cooperation with UO’s Division of Equity and Inclusion, the SOMD CEI works to facilitate an inclusive, safe, and welcoming environment for all.

Curriculum Committee
Responsible for reviewing all curricular requests from all three departments, including proposals for new and modified courses, specializations, certificates, and degree programs.

Faculty Advisory Committee (FAC)
Provides the Dean with faculty opinion, advice, and counsel on a wide range of school matters such as budget, academic policies and programs, artistic and financial resources, public relations and marketing, and recruitment.

Graduate Committee
Oversight of the graduate program, including all curricular and procedural matters.

Library Committee
Advise and collaborate on strategies concerning purchases and projects to support the SOMD.

Personnel Committee
Charged with conducting personnel reviews for all major reviews for tenure-related and career faculty.

Scheduling and Space Allocation Committee
Responsible for allocating and designating all SOMD-controlled spaces for curricular delivery, including Frohnmayer Music Building, Gerlinger Annex, Berwick Hall, and Collier House.

SOMD Review Committee
The principal work carried out by the SOMD Review Committee involves evaluating 1. Faculty Merit Reviews (during merit review years); 2. Trotter Visiting Professorship (TVP) Proposals; 3. SOMD Berwick Excellence in Teaching Awards.

Undergraduate Committee
Oversight of the undergraduate program, including all curricular and procedural matters.
