***And I am sure there are articles in magazines and online websites (that did not show up in my search due to not being published recently).
The presence of the museum on social media sites was surprising. I expected a Facebook and a flickr (because people are constantly taking pictures), and even the Twitter makes sense. I did not at all expect a Tumblr, Youtube, Instagram, and Pinterest pages. When I first saw these extra pages, I automatically thought that they hired a very overzealous tech intern who created these pages. But, they all look to be recently updated. The museum also has a home page (linked with De Young Museum and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco pages). The Legion has various other pages about them that the museum itself does not control; wikipedia, yelp, trip advisor, etc.
There are also many online and newspaper articles that mention the Legion. It is covered more in local media, but has likely been mentioned in national news a few times. As far as books, I only found two books that cover the Legion of Honor.
