For this course, Art in Society, I have many learning objectives. They include learning about the variety of participatory practices involved with all forms of art. I am also interested in learning more about transmedia, its definition and use. As I am coming from a historical background I am also fascinated to learn about the concept of art in society in many different historical time periods and cultures that I have previously studied from other perspectives. The field guide project is something that I feel will help my understanding of the basics of this class. Along with these goals of learning, I also hope to get a well rounded introduction to arts management in general.
End of Quarter Evaluation:
In week ten, I can now say that I have accomplished most of my learning goals. We have learned exhaustively about transmedia and its uses in arts management. Though we have learned lots about art in our current society, I was hoping to learn more about how historical societies treated art and viewed it as important to society. The class has taught me many things about modern society and politics surrounding art.
