Host an ALERTWildfire Site
The Oregon Hazards Lab is looking for sites in Oregon where we can install an ALERTWildfire camera. ALERTWildfire is a high-speed camera system that provides firefighters and first responders a new way to spot and track wildfires. Its 700 cameras across the West Coast can zoom, rotate, and tilt, enabling fire managers to watch the landscape, fire behavior, and weather in real-time or later through time-lapse footage.
We typically install ALERTWildfire cameras on mountaintop towers that provide a long-range, 360-degree view of the surrounding area. We have previously partnered with utilities, wireless internet service providers, cell companies, and federal and state agencies.
