ACCOMMODATIONS & PARKING

There are several nearby hotels that can accommodate you. We recommend The Society Hotel and The Hoxton. There are also many Airbnb and hostel options located across town.

Parking is extremely limited near the White Stag Building. There are a number of nearby lots and parking garages. However, we suggest that attendees staying overnight for the conference use parking options via their accommodations.

TRAVEL

Portland International Airport
Voted America’s best airport for the sixth year in a row by Travel and Leisure Magazine, Portland International Airport offers nonstop service to more than 50 cities in the US. Travelers can access downtown Portland via the TriMet light rail, bus, taxi, or ride-share services.

Amtrak
Three Amtrak lines stop at Portland’s historic Union Station: Amtrak Cascades (Vancouver, BC – Eugene), Coast Starlight (Seattle – Los Angeles), and Empire Builder (Chicago – Portland/Seattle).

Located on the west side of the Willamette River, Union Station is just a 15-minute walk from UO’s Portland campus. We encourage attendees from western Washington and Oregon to travel to the conference by Amtrak.

TRANSPORTATION

Portland has an excellent public transportation system. TriMet provides both bus and lightrail services throughout the Portland metropolitan area. See https://trimet.org/ for more information. If you are arriving to Portland via Portland International Airport, we encourage you to use the MAX Red Line to travel from the airport right to the heart of downtown Portland.

In addition to public transportation, there are a number of rideshare services and taxis that can be used to easily get around.
