The Student Sustainability Center hosts the Leadership Engagement Program (LEP). In the LEP, volunteers choose a topic and then meet weekly with a team of peers to volunteer, host events, learn about the topic, and more. Opportunities range from helping at weekly produce drops, gardening at the Grove Garden, assisting in keeping the ROSE room (a free school supply office) open, hosting environmental justice speakers, and much more. If students are interested, volunteers also receive support from SSC staff on hosting events and pursuing passion projects within their program area. The SSC is for all students and is so much more than just environmental based programs! We have opportunities for all students with all interests and various time availabilities.
Volunteers walk away from this program with an increased sense of community, marketable leadership skills focused on sustainability leadership, and more passion for topics of their interest.
On Oct 9th, from 5-6pm in the EMU Diamond Lake Room, there will be an informational meeting and time to match student volunteers with the topic of their choice. There will also be snacks! To learn more and receive updates on this program, please fill out this form. If you have any questions, or cannot make the informational meeting please email sscleadership@uoregon.edu!
