Comic Showcase is Coming Soon!

Hi, again we are fast approaching the due date (Friday, November 18th) for your final comic book designs.  This due date allows us to start printing them out/making copies to have ready for our final showcase happening during Tuesday’s class of Week 10.

Here is what you should be working on:

  • Inking/Finalizing All of Design to Be Ready for Scanning
  • Final Design Revisions Made
  • Page Design Finalized and Ready for Scanning

If you are done before the due date please send us your digital file or get us your original copy early!

Next Tuesday’s class will be a full work studio time.  We will expect to see progress towards your final comics (85% to 95% finalized progress), and we will expect you to bring in your work and art supplies/tablets/etc. to really take advantage of the full studio time.

For those who missed class on 11/8 when we went over 2-year plans, please look through the slides (see below) and send Mazzy by 11/15 a picture of a “What If” schedule made on the degree guide website to receive attendance credit for the missed class.

2-Year Plan Presentation: November 8, 2022

Additionally, we will be having some upcoming ‘social’ and ‘academic’ events, keep an eye on Canvas announcements for event information, if you have not let Mazzy know your upcoming schedule please do so ASAP.  Remember that you need to take part in three out of class events to receive your main passing “Socialization” Achievement.

Last but not least, if you are missing required parts of the class contact Robert ASAP to discuss making this up.  IMPORTANT:  If you are missing ANY Journals, class attendance, and other parts of the class you need to make these up very soon to pass this class.

Questions?  Contact us!

Best,

Robert and Mazzy

Week Six: Keep Working!

Keep working on the comics!

Again we have about two and a half weeks left until the November 18th due date.  Here is the checklist of the stages that should be done now/soon and what you should be working on to finish your comic.

Reminder that your 1:1s with Robert are starting this week.  For this meeting:

  1. Bring your comic books, want to check in on your progress and it is important to see your planned formatting to take notes for the printing/scanning of your work.
  2. Be ready to talk about how things are going in this class and your first term at the UO.
  3. Bring in any questions you have for Robert.

Mazzy will be in Knight Library 5:30 to 6:30 on Thursday after ENG 280 let’s out. This will be a great opportunity for anyone who needs to work on their comics, and for those who missed the first meet this is an opportunity to satisfy the academic event attendance requirement!

Lastly, here are the slides from Mazzy’s presentation about UO Well-being Resources.

Best,

Robert and Mazzy
