Week Six: Reflection, Moving Forward, Academic Plans

Two messages from your instructional team!

From Giovanna:

Hello Everyone,

I am very proud to see how far you have all come in such short time! It is an honor to be your FA for My Visual Story. I know we are in the “belly of the beast” right now in terms of life, society, and college workload, but you are all very talented and capable students. I expect nothing but great things from you all. Remember to not overwork yourself, especially during these challenging times, and to take some “me time”. You will not be at your best unless you are feeling your best. In the future, you will come to realize that all the hard work you do now will pay off.

If you find yourself needing someone to chat with about anything, reach out to me. I am open to talking about the way your term is going or if you enjoy/dislike your classes. Feel free to reflect on anything you have experienced this term.  Here is also the PDF version of the slides from Monday’s presentation: https://blogs.uoregon.edu/myvisualstory/files/2020/11/2-Year-Plan.pdf

Yours respectfully,

Giovanna

From Robert: Reflecting on the Week and Moving Forward

Hi,

For this week we all reflected on where we are for this Fall term.  It is a challenging term overall with all the new ways of interacting with classes in remote and online forums.  It is also time for midterms, elections, daylight savings, and the weather getting colder and wetter so this all adds more stress.  Our hope is you all are able to look back at your goals from the start of the term, and you may not be meeting all these at the moment but remember this is a longer haul deal.  You may not get all you want out of every class and every college experience, but you can find something in all of these experiences.  It may not resonate in the precise moment but will later in your life as a moment you will come to appreciate more.

And I see myself as having an open door if you want to chat about how a week is going or how classes are going or something else.  Please contact me at any time to set up a meeting to talk in person or by Zoom.

Best,

Robert
