First Blog Post

January 8, 2014

This is the type of blog I’ve been waiting my whole life for. I’ve always been reserved in putting trust into a cat person, like why would someone in their right mind standing in between a dog and cat would ever gravitate towards a cat. It just seems so wrong. So there I was on the HUFFINGTON POST, and there it was, the words that would back up my own opinions on the matter at hand. The

The title in itself sets the tone for the article, SORRY BUT YOUR CAT IS ACTUALLY A TOTAL JERK. IT’S JUST SCIENCE. Starting with the first point, the fact that no matter what you say to your cat, or how bad you want it to come to you, it wont, unless its on its own terms. This author is great at bringing the real issues we all have towards cats to the surface but also backing these notions up with facts! You may feel like your cat doesn’t care, and you’re right. After many observations “A recent study published in the Animal Cognition Journal in July discovered that cats can recognize their owner’s voice, but that doesn’t mean they will respond to them.” A great thing about cats though is the fact that they are extremely fuzzy, but the downside to this as the article points at is that, cats hate to snuggle. If it doesn’t benefit them, they wont like it. That’s the bottom line in the cat lover equation.

From their toxic poop, to their manipulative purring, there are many facts surrounding the idea of how bad being a “cat person” really is. But even if you’re still a cat person despite reading this article, it does also have facts that will make you love you’re cat even more than you probably already do. If the cute pictures in the blog don’t spark your love then the facts about how they tell you they love you will get you excited.

Although I am not a cat person, I do have a cat that I love, only my cat though (she is the exception). The blog and researchers state that a cat staring from a distance and blinking means they love you…who knew?
