1.Describe the term paleoanthropsychobiological. Who coined this term?

For this question I think author Dissanayake use her art view to create this word. From the article we can see ” My palaeoanthropsychobiological viewis that in order to include human history, human cultures, and human psychology.” (Page 15) In addition, art reflects human society and human emotional needs, may cause certain effects on human behavior phenomenon. I think the author use this word want to represent her heart.

2.What does Dissanayake mean by the phrase “making special”? How does it relate to art and to human survival?

Making special is very personal. It is represent truth and seriously attitude. Making special can let people feel different. Art is not have rule. The people have different ways to show their own art.  Like country, culture, language and so forth. Sometime people have their own emotions. So the show results are very different. People live in the different environment. So we have different angel. The art project can represent our feeling, life and value.

3.Dissanayake identifies many different theories/movement/periods of art throughout western european history. Name three different theories of art that Dissanayake mentions in her essay. I think the the three periods are in the 14th century( Renaissance), 18th century (Modernism), and 20th century (postmodernism.In the first part we called “God-centered” In the modern society the people tend to more freedom. They don’t care about tradition. Some time they innovate.  Right now ” people have large range to understand art” Art is lead to different field.  Some you will feel abstract. In this article said ” There is a special frame of mind for approaching works of art- a disinterested attitude that is separate from one’s own personal interest in the object, its utility or its social or religious ramifacations”  So art is come from your deeper heart. Some time they are clear sometime they are abstract.

Today I have a busy schedule, I think I am so lucky my mom visit to me and stay with me. In the weekend, I like to stay with family. I think if my daddy come here. It should be better. For today, I woke up at 10am and take shower. After that I eat my breakfast.  My mom cook breakfast to me.Today is Sunday, so I have much homework will due. I decide to go to library. At 12pm, I arrived to Library. Today have few people stay in the library. I think other people don’t came cause they enjoy the sunshine. I spend two hours to review my Economics class. Because next week I have mid-term. When I done, I want to relax. So I decide to go to gym. In the summer, girl like skinny. So do I.  And then I go back to home take shower, I have a appointment with my friends. Because tonight we want to have dinner together.  My activities represent Family, Health, Friendship, Independence, Personal development.  I think these values are really important to me.

My choice isFamily,Health ,Friendship , Independence, Personal Development. I am so happy in this summer, my mom can come here and join in my graduate celebration. I love stay with mom. She is busy in China. I am very happy she can spend some time to stay with me. Everyday we use Wechat  to talk my daddy. Some time we record the video. My family are really easy-going. They teach me how to make friends.  So in here, I have many good friends. In addition, I think health is very important. You only have good health. So each week I spend four  days to go to the gym. In my life I can’t live without friends. I like go to portland with my friends. We can go shopping, eat yummy food. And at night we can go to Bar. I really enjoy it! I also thought Independence is very important. Because when we go aboard to study. I think everything was change. I must do everything by myself. In here, when you meet trouble, you should calm down and think how to fix it. The last part I think personal development is nesscessary.  In this modern society, people should have their own ability. When I was go to do part-time job. I think is very challenge to me when I work in the carson. For me, I think my parents are great example to me. They have good work , they are nice, and easy-going. I think I should follow. For my goal, I think when I graduate I can find a great job. And the first month I can use my salary to buy gift for my parents. As you know for international students the tuition is really expensive. I really thankful to them. I don’t let them feel disappointment to me. Everyday I want to have good mood, and keep busy schedule.

Analysis A Question of Values
In this week I read the first article ‘Six Ways We Make the Personal Choices That Shape Our Lives’. In this article author use different ways to introduce how to learn something. I with deep feelings. “A television series teaches English grammar by using music videos.”(A Question of Values) I remember when I first time to come to U.S, it is really big challenge. I don’t know how to talk with people. I’m afraid. Because I think other people don’t understand what I am talking about. I try to find the best way to learn English. On day I stay in the dorm with my roommate, we watch TV together. I thought many phrases from TV series. So I think watching TV series is the best way to learn English. TV series can help international students study very well. No matter who you are, you can learn phrase or sentence. It is better than to listen the music. Before I went to U.S, the English teacher recommend me to watch ‘Family Album USA’. They said it is really helpful. You can learn idiomatic English. I know watching English TV series are very difficult to me. I remember when I watched the first episode, I thought comfortable and enjoyable. It is not very hard. It is simple and have practical value. TV series is audio visual to learn English. We can see their facial expression and intonation.
However, listen to the music it is totally different. Some time they have liaison. For me, it is very hard to understand. Music is a kind of culture. Like in America, they have pop music, jazz music, blue music and so forth. They have their own story and history. So I think lyric is different to conversation. They have different ways. In the song some pounces are different. In my opinion, I think TV series are very useful and helpful. For my own experiences that is the best way to help to study English.

Analysis What is Art For

Art have different types. Art can from culture, history and so forth.In the article the author said that “it accounts for the fact that art is psychological or emotional need and has psychological or emotional effects.” (What is Art for) I agree with this statement.Art can make us feel comfortable.Sometime I think art can help people relieve the pression. We can’t live without art. Art can help improve us sentiment. No matter who you are, you will learn new knowledge from art. Many people willing to study art history. They like to be art lover. They have passion. When I first time to come to U.S. I thought natural beauty. I came here in September fall term. I saw the leaf turn become yellow. It looks like photos. This is my first time to see really natural view. I really enjoy it.
Western view is totally different in my hometown. In my hometown is very cold in the winter and snow cover the street. But in Eugene there is no winter, it always raining. After raining, you also can see flower natural colors. It is bright. When I was young I watched the movie, it is talk about cowboy. It is very cool. I image my life happened in the western. Right now it is dream come true.

In addition, I also agree author opinion that everyone may become artist. In college, many people like take art classes. Because it is very interesting and also we can read many materials for art. We can know different cultures. In each country they have their own style dance. I like watch them. In our college, they hold ‘Japan Night’,’Hong Kong Night’ ‘Taiwan Night’ and ‘China night’ Many people willing spend money to go there. They provide traditional food and performance. I think so much fun. You can believe that what a great experience.
