COVID testing

To Enter the USA

Sunday, June 12:  the testing requirement for international travelers to enter the USA was removed. Current rules for USA citizens or non-citizens entering the country are HERE.

Before leaving the USA

OFF-CAMPUS testing is fast but expensive:
Rapid Antigen testing: Nova Health just changed their name to “BestMed“, open 08:00 to 20:00. The location nearest the UO is the Patterson Clinic: 598 E. 13th Avenue, Eugene 97401 and offers Rapid Antigen testing for several hundred dollars. This is a 15-minute walk due west from our Straub lecture hall. Visit the site to make an appointment in advance. If you receive a rapid antigen test, you MUST stay at the testing facility to receive your results. If you need a copy as well, please request one as you wait.

Rapid PCR test:  the BestMed clinic on Coburg Road can do this, but it costs $552. The address is: 1800 Coburg Rd, Eugene, OR 97401. Phone is (541) 345-8760. Visit their site to “get in line” in advance.

ON-CAMPUS testing is free but takes longer (closed June 19-20):
As of June 21, the “Monitoring and Assessment Program” (MAP) is moving from McArthur Court to Chiles Hall. Tests will be capped at 350/day including walk-in and symptomatic patients. Make an appointment early to ensure your appointment time and date preference. There will be a tent outside for symptomatic testers. Masks continue to be required at MAP testing sites, including in line outside. Use this LINK to register. For MAP testing, do not eat, drink, brush teeth, chew gum, or use tobacco within the 30 minutes prior to your test.

SUMMER hours are:

  • Monday/Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday/Thursday: 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

NOTE: Symptomatic and walk-in testing ends 30 minutes prior to closing or when the daily cap is reached. Arrive as early in the day as possible. Symptomatic testing is for individuals experiencing mild viral symptoms and who do not need a medical evaluation.
