Here are some apps we recommended, with suggestions for how to manage exercise, nutrition, stress and sleep!


Exercise

Zombie, Run!: An immersive running and audio adventure, this app lets you complete missions and help save others from peril. If the zombies are chasing you, speeding up is the only option to prevent certain death. If you want to feel an adrenaline rush and your heart pumping, this is the app for you.

Map My Fitness: Search for running routes in the area as well as share favorite routes, while competing with friends. Map My Fitness also records data on pace, distance, and calories burned for GPS synced workouts, giving users the ability to make new personal fitness goals.

J&J 7-Minute Workout: Based on HIIT and circuit training, this app
has many preformed and custom workouts. There are 72 tutorials that show you how to safely and effectively complete each exercise.

 

Nike Training Center: Your ultimate personal trainer, fully loaded with 185+ workouts, clear audio and visual guidance for every move, plus collections to help you reach a range of goals with curated workout recommendations and expert tips

 

 

Nutrition

Waterlogged: The app allows you to take pictures of your drinking vessels to quickly and automatically log your water intake. It also allows you to set up reminders to drink fluids, and assess your hydration with handy graphs.

 

Shopwell: Enter your fitness goals, nutritional requirements and food sensitivities when you setup the app. As you shop, you can
scan the bar-codes of items you’re considering for information about the nutritional content.

HealthyOut: It provides access to menus of local restaurants, and matches items on their menu to your dietary needs and
preferences. Making eating out not just a guilty pleasure.

 

 

Stress

Breath2Relax: Trains users to use “belly breathing” techniques which promote deep rather than shallow breathing by monitoring the duration of self-reported inhaling and exhaling.

 

Pacifica: Offers relaxation techniques, mood and health practices tracking, guided self-help paths in line with cognitive behavioral therapy methods, goal setting, and a peer support community as a source of advice and comfort.

 

Happify: Focuses on elevating user’s happiness by choosing a personalized track of reducing stress and anxiety and guiding the user’s relaxation/meditation. The tracks and guides offered in the app
were designed by scientists and based off behavioral cognitive therapy
literature.

 

Sleep

SleepCycle: An alarm clock that tracks your sleeping pattern, ensuring to wake you up during your lightest sleep and therefore, helps you feel more rested. It has an Intelligent Snooze which gradually wakes you up through your wake phase.

 

DigiPill: The meditation app uses a combination of psychoacoustics and Neuro-Linguistic Programming to help fall asleep. It has a range of lengths for power naps to deep sleeps.

 

RelaxMelodies: The app offers a vast selection of nature sounds and melodies that you can combine yourself. Through the app the community can share different mixes they have created so you can try an endless amount.
