Healthy Habits-(Mental/Physical)

We all struggle with our mental health from time to time. Despite how common these experiences may be, many of us still frequently neglect our mental health and fall into harmful patterns of behavior.

Mental health is every bit as important as physical health, and it doesn’t take much to implement helpful strategies to aid your well-being. There are a number of small tasks you can do every day to boost your mood and keep yourself in good mental health.

Healthy Habits:

  1. Exercise- take a walk, hike, bike, skate, etc
  2. Socialize- pick up the phone and call a friend! Or invite people to dinner.
  3. Express Gratitude- Keeping a journal and writing daily or weekly what your grateful for can completely alter your mindset.
  4. Spend Time Outside- spending 5 minutes in nature is a natural mood enhancer!
  5. Do Something Nice-give compliments to strangers, why? “Because making others feel good, feels good”.
  6. Have A Good Laugh-laughter increases your ability to learn, improves your short-term memory, and reduces your stress levels.
  7. Sit Up Straight-sitting up straight elicits more happy and powerful emotions.
  8. Sleep- although it’s generally thought that eight hours is the norm, each person has their own requirements. It’s important to get the amount you need!
  9. Have Something To Look Forward to-planning a trip elicits just as much happiness as actually going on the vacation.
  10. Learn Something New- keep your mind fresh by picking up a new hobby or reading about a topic you don’t know about.
