Meet the Team!

We are a group of UO students who staff the Duck Nest. Our mission is to make movement more accessible and inclusive on campus! Here’s more information on us:

Christabelle Moore: I’m a PhD Student in Prevention science and my favorite way to move is F45 at the SRC! I am so excited for this blog because students want information about health and wellness but the information often comes to us from a million different directions and it may not always be accurate or in time. This is a health equity issue and if we don’t change things then we are just increasing the disparities to healthy living.

Sarah Birch: Hi Ducks! I’m a sophomore majoring in Sociology with minors in Spanish and Nonprofit Administration. My favorite way to move is ice skating because it makes me feel like I’m flying and it’s a really fun activity to do with friends. I am so excited about the launch of the #howducksmove blog and hope that it will be helpful in motivating the UO community to engage in activities that get people moving!

Emma Ly: I’m a sophomore majoring in Psychology and minoring in Philosophy. My favorite way to move is hiking, and more recently, skiing! I am excited for this blog because this can serve as a catalyst to change how movement can and should be inclusive for everyone. Movement looks different for everyone–I hope we can value and promote all different forms!

Brittney Effros: Hi y’all! I’m a senior majoring in general science with minors in psychology and global health. I’m in the process of completing the prerequisites for occupational therapy school and will be applying within the next two years. My favorite way to move is through workout classes! I really enjoy going to cycling and F45 at the UO’s Rec Center and have even recently started going to barre. I’m excited to share new ways to move with all of you via our blog.

Pilar Willis: I’m a sophomore majoring in Business and French. My favorite way to move is to run 5k’s and hike. I am excited about this blog because I want to promote physical activity, fun workouts and important info to students on campus!
