Here are some tips for attending and standing out at this year’s In Person Environmental Connect:

 

  • Communicating with employers
    • Look your best to help your confidence in making a memorable first impression
    • Research the featured organizations on LinkedIn or company websites to have a step up when networking
    • Write down questions based on your research and what you want to learn to use at the event
    • Thank them and ask to connect again for a more in-depth conversation
  • Be ready to ask good questions
    • What is the typical career path of an entry level employee?
    • Does your company offer internships?
    • What are the biggest challenges a new hire encounters when starting with your company?
  • Follow up with employers
    • Utilize Handshake to learn more about the employers you meet.
    • Email or LinkedIn-message employers you want to get to know better.
    • Set up time for a 30 minute informational interview in the next month to start building a stronger connection for future job opportunities.
