Early Childhood CARES will host its Springfield team Fall Kick off event on September 24th from 5:00-6:30pm at the Brattain Early Learning Center located at 425 10th Street in Springfield. Early Childhood CARES staff who serve the Springfield area will be in attendance. Come and have some ice cream and meet other families receiving services close to you. September 26: PARENT SUPPORT GROUP (SPANISH)

Come join a group of parents and share in the joys and struggles of parenting a child with special needs. This is a great group for parents looking to connect with other parents. This will be the first Parent Support Group meeting of the year for Spanish speaking families. It will be held in room 145 of the Clinical Services Building, located at 901 E. 18th Ave. in Eugene. October 1: Cottage Grove Fall Kick-Off Event

Early Childhood CARES will host another Fall Kick-off event on October 1st for families who live further south in Lane County. This will take place at Delight Valley School in Cottage Grove located at 79980 Delight Valley School Rd in Cottage Grove. APRIL 29: STATUTORY OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE MEETINGdate

Early Childhood CARES will host a Statutory Oversight Committee Meeting on Wed., April 29 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at its main office which is located at 299 E. 18th Ave., Eugene. The Statutory Oversight Committee is comprised of service providers, agencies, school districts and parents who meet to discuss fiscal issues and the delivery of services to Early Childhood CARES children and their families. Childcare will not be provided; however, parents will be paid a $25 stipend for self-arranged childcare. Parent attendance is welcome at these meetings and parent input is appreciated!

Early Childhood CARES will host a Visual Supports in the Home Workshop on Sat., March. 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Brattain Early Learning Center library located at 425 10th St., Springfield. The session focuses on visual supports in the home that parents can use to improve communication and reduce stress. Some examples include: picture schedules, calendars, choice boards, social stories, and visuals for routines at home like bedtime, dressing, toileting, etc. Childcare will be provided for families receiving services from Early Childhood CARES. FEBRUARY 19: CREATING YOUR CHILD’S ONE-PAGE PROFILE

Come join us for our Creating Your Child’s One Page Profile Workshop to learn how you can communicate and share your child’s gifts and strengths with others using the one-page profile. The one page profile is a great tool to share with physicians, teachers, babysitters, therapists, summer camp leaders and any other people who know and interact with your child. Parents will learn how to record their child’s gifts, as well as what works and doesn’t work for their child. The end result will be a document parents can share with others that will ultimately help people better support your child.
