Early Childhood CARES will host part 6 of its Winter Positive Parenting Group on Mon., March 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in room 145 of the Clinical Services Building located on the University of Oregon campus at 901 E. 18th Ave. Free parking is available next to the building. This is an eight-week training designed to help parents learn effective behavior support strategies to use with preschool-age children with challenging behaviors. Early Childhood CARES will offer another Behavior Management Parent Group in the Spring.
Early Childhood CARES will host part 2 of it’s Behavior Training Parent Group for Spanish speaking parents on Tues., March 3 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in room 145 of the Clinical Services Building, located at 901 E. 18th Ave. in Eugene. This is a four-week parent group series based upon the Incredible Years, developed by Dr. Carloyn Webster-Stratton with the University of Washington. Snacks will be provided. Free parking is available next to the building.

The Early Childhood CARES Parent Support Group will meet on Thurs., March 12 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in room 145 of the Clinical Services Building, located at 901 E. 18th Ave. in Eugene. Free parking is available next to the building. Snacks will be provided. Preregistration is required. Parents need to register for the meeting even if childcare is not needed. Early Childhood CARES will host a Visual Supports in the Home Workshop on Sat., March. 14 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Brattain Early Learning Center library located at 425 10th St., Springfield. The session focuses on visual supports in the home that parents can use to improve communication and reduce stress. Some examples include: picture schedules, calendars, choice boards, social stories, and visuals for routines at home like bedtime, dressing, toileting, etc. Childcare will be provided for families receiving services from Early Childhood CARES. The workshop will be cancelled if fewer than five parents register.
