Shading Structure Prototype
In this scheme, two series of panels are aligned and hinge at the midline to create āVā shapes that protrude from the facade of the building. In this 1-2 pattern, the 1ās protrude further while the 2ās remain closer to the glazing. The sun is allowed in at the spaces created between these two panels.
I had originally thought that my shading device would function by folding, but the changing angles actually stretch the form, requiring some sort of tension material in order to be effective.
