The University of Oregon College of Arts and Sciences has announced the appointment of Professor Michael M. Haley as the next recipient of the Richard M. and Patricia H. Noyes Professorship in Chemistry. The Noyes Professorship supports the teaching and scholarship of an outstanding senior faculty member in any sub-discipline within the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.

In addition to Professor Haley’s compelling research record, he received the 2002 Thomas F. Herman teaching award and has provided more than five years of effective service as Department Head. This combination of high level research, teaching and service distinguish him as an ideal candidate for this honor.
