LIVING THE DREAM

About

Living the Dream is a multimedia package created by three journalism students at the University of Oregon. The team interviewed local Eugene community members who believe they have achieved their dreams, as well as youth and students aspiring to great heights.

Isabel Zacharias believes in swearing, silliness, punk, poetry, and lots in between. She reigns as publisher over the Oregon Voice, our fine campus’s arts & culture publication. She also writes album reviews for Unrecorded, writes poetry at the Kidd Tutorial, plays original acoustic music, and reads detective novels. Beyoncé for President. Pura vida.

Nuts ‘n Bolts: journalism major, double-minoring in creative writing and music. Sophomore.

Nick Ahrens is a 24-year-old junior at the University of Oregon working part time at Costco. He is highly interested in the field of advertising and is pursuing this as a career. More specifically he is interested in media advertising. His experience comes from personal projects as a hobby and school work in high school. He hopes to be involved in The Emerald advertising department during the duration of his school career.

Nick gets his drive from his time spent taking a year off school and realizing what opportunities are out there, if we truly pursue them. Living in Dubai, UAE for a few months and starting his own Crossfit clothing line pushed him further then he had expected. He learned more about himself over these past couple of years then he could ever had hoped for.

My name is Dominic Strazulo, I’m 20 years old from the Bay Area.  I am a Journalism major with a focus in Advertisement, letting my creative juices fly all over.  I have no experience in the field of journalism (yet!).  I am interested in videography and photography and aspire to work in the film industry some day.
