Assignment – 1: Introduction

For my thesis, I plan on using it as an opportunity to expand my horizons and continue discovering not only new drafting and drawing techniques but also add to my design process and theory.  Being in a studio that is directly related to green technology will also not only be challenging but will be a great chance to learn more about something that is so important to the health and future our lifestyle.  A couple of personal goals of mine this term will be to keep a very detailed and log of all of my work leading up to my final presentation.  In the long run this will help in my creative process and also at the final presentation.  Another personal goal of mine is to produce work that is always unique and different.  I want to keep pushing my self in a direction that will continually inspire me and expand my limits as a designer.  In the end I hope to present a a design that is not only my very best work but something that I can continue to tweak and work on long after I graduate.  How I know if I achieved this will not only be through my peers, professor and critics, it will be through my own personal tests.  Considering that this thesis is my last studio I plan on pushing my self into new boundaries and pushing my creative design process.  At this point I plan on looking into the South Waterfront site and seeing how I can enhance the area.  Another thing I would want to accomplish would be to start researching new and innovative green technology initiatives.  I plan on doing this by reading plenty and improving my design philosophy to balanced and organic.  In the end I look forward to this studio and cannot wait to produce some of my best work in my undergraduate career.
